clash of the two worlds...

a dark hall.. a screen lit up with a magnificent smile.. and enthralling music, that's my earliest memory of the the experience of a film. "saajan", the film is memorable for more reasons than one. i was 4 years old and i remember jumping out of my mother's lap and dancing in the aisle, "dekha hain pehli baar saajan ke akhon main pyar".

from my early childhood, more than bedtime stories, the television and it's fascinating images arrested my attention. i could not help falling in love with the world of films, and before i knew it, i was bewitched.

i watch films when i am happy...when i am sad.. when i am angry...hmm in a nutshell whenever i am feeling any emotion..

in the silver screen and it's world of fantasy i lose myself. my world stops being an average one.. and i can happily traipse on sandy beaches.. dance on lush green hill tops... romance with the the handsome prince.

when i finally awake after 3 hours of the dream.. the world seems strange to me...
no longer does the rain fall when the cutest guy in college smiles at me. neither does the sun shine when i am feeling exceptionally happy.

the villain who groped me in the bus doesn't get bashed up by the muscled hero...
in this world no one really bothers what you are upto...there is no music...no fantastical backdrops...
the bad guys get away and the good guys get beaten up..

the world i live in and the world i breathe in are so different...

an ordinary clark kent became superman, a geeky peter parker became the sexy spiderman...
so an ordinary shreyashi... steps into the world she desires..."filmymimi", she lives in a fantasy...she lives in a world where emotions are vividly painted on the 70 mm celluloid screen...
